HOW CONCRETE POLISHING IS DONE

You can count on the fact that it's long lasting, scratch resistant and it's always easy to clean with just a wet mop. Dust never settles to this flooring, and because its breathable, it won't support growth.
Altrough old and uneven concrete is hard to polish and basements are hard to get to, our machines are made to go down stairs safely to your basement.
All jobs start with a test area that is about 3 square foot. This is where decisions will be made about gloss levels and staining options. That way no surprises occur and you are satisfied. Step 1 is very important.
The first cut depends on the floor, a very aggressive metal bond diamond is used to remove epoxy and or even out the floor. At this point cracks can also be repaired. This is followed up with as many as four more grinding cut sessions with 120 grit metal bond diamond tools.
It is very important to vacuum the floor between cuts to remove expelled diamonds from previous cuts. After the metal bond diamond cut, a good cleaning with an auto-scrubber is done.
The next step is to switch to a resin bond diamond. We start with a 100 grit up to a 400 grit diamond grinding pad. A identifier harder is applied during this step. This is where the floor starts to show its beauty.
Now the polishing starts in step 5. There are four pads, starting at 400 grit and ending at 3500 grit. Even through the floor looks beautiful now the next two steps put it over the top.
After a good cleaning with the auto scrubber we apply a penetrating guard. This must be done with a high speed burnish either with an electric or propane powered machine to melt the guard into the floor.
You are now ready to enjoy your floor for many years.
